Admissions Consultation 2022-2023:
We are presently consulting all interested parties, including parents/carers and community groups on Cockburn School’s admission arrangements for 2022-23, the aim of the change is to ensure that as many parents as possible gain a place for their child at their number one preferred school choice.

There is only one change to our admission arrangements with us wishing to remove our 1b category which notes students without an EHCP who have exceptional medical or mobility needs which the school feels can only be realistically met by Cockburn School. (See Note 2). With the school not being a resourced provision, we don’t believe there are any circumstances named that could not be met by any mainstream school. We are also moving away from an employed school nurse on site to a first aider so we no longer have any expertise in this area on site.

We have also simplified our supplementary form which is required to apply via our 10% Cohort, it is attached for your observations.

We would like your views on this suggested change during the consultation period between the 9th November 2020 and the 18th December 2020 . Any views can be sent to Mr Jonathan Stevens (Deputy Headteacher) on his email at stevensj@cockburnschool.org or if you wish to speak to him personally please ring the school on 0113 2719962.
